Gemini AI May Be Coming to iPhones With iOS 19—Here’s What We Know
In a development that could reshape the AI landscape on Apple devices, Google’s CEO, Sundar Pichai, has hinted at a potential collaboration between Google’s Gemini AI and Apple's Intelligence, possibly debuting with iOS 19 later this year.
The revelation came during Google’s ongoing antitrust trial, where Pichai shared that he’s been in discussions with Apple CEO Tim Cook throughout 2024. He expressed optimism that a deal could be finalised by midyear, just in time for Apple’s Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) kicking off June 9.
If finalized, this would mark a major shift in Apple’s approach to third-party AI, following last year’s announcement of their partnership with ChatGPT. This year, however, Gemini could be the new AI powerhouse integrated into iPhones.
Early speculation suggests that Gemini would complement Siri, perhaps through commands like: “Siri, ask Gemini…” or as a background engine powering more complex queries, offering users a more dynamic AI experience.
While Apple and Google haven’t officially confirmed the deal, the clues are stacking up. If it happens, we could see multiple AI assistants coexisting on iPhones—bringing smarter, more flexible responses and perhaps a bit of friendly competition built right into iOS.
As the tech world watches closely, WWDC 2025 may be the event where Apple reveals just how serious they are about blending multiple AI models into one seamless user experience.
Stay tuned—we’ll be keeping an eye on all the updates as they unfold.
